Construction Workers' Campaign Brief

HeatWatch and Aajeevika Bureau’s Work Fair & Free Foundation held a workshop in Pune, Maharashtra, for 70+ daily wage construction workers to address the impact of extreme heat on their health.

The sessions were led by Dr. Supriya Dwivedi who discussed the impact of heat on productivity, severe health risks such as heat stroke and dehydration, and the lack of basic amenities like clean drinking water and sanitation along with practical mitigation strategies that workers could take to protect themselves from rising temperatures.

The brief was submitted to Maha BOCW Welfare Board, Labour, Department, Pune, Maharashtra, advocating for heat-resilient working conditions, proper scheduling, and gender-inclusive policies to safeguard vulnerable workers.
