HeatWatch Data Sprint Event

HeatWatch Data Sprint Event

HeatWatch is collaborating with Veditum India Foundation for our first data sprint.

Join us online on July 27, 2024, to help expand our archive on heat-induced illnesses, strokes, and deaths from extreme heat waves.

Our ‘Data Sprint’ brings together open-data enthusiasts, researchers, activists, and students to focus on the growing issue of extreme heat waves, especially their impact on vulnerable communities. This event is a day-long, intensive effort to digitize data.

The goal is to collect comprehensive data on heat-related illnesses and deaths from regional and national English news articles across India. This data will be freely available to the public.

Volunteers will receive a certificate of appreciation upon completion.
